1. Take a green radish or any root. Slice it 1 inch off.
2. You need the vegetable slice, thai knife, U-shape
knife and V-shape knife.
3. Using a thai knife cut out two segments as the
picture shows. This is a fan handle.
4. Insert U-shape knife right above the fan handle and
turn it around to make a round-shape groove. Do not
cut a hole. You need just a groove.
5. Using a thai knife cut a thin layer of the root
around the round-shape groove.
6. Now the pattern gets raised.
7. Using V-shape knife cut a fan pattern moving from
the handle to the root rim.
8. Make the pattern lines deeper and wider when you
getting the fan edge.
9. Correct the fan shape so it looks neat.
10. Use the fan centerpiece to garnish Chinese and
Japanese plates.
